When I first got this book for Christmas I was extremely excited to start reading this!! I knew it was going to be a tearjerker but I was sure I was not going to cry in the end. I ended up sobbing by the end of the book and I gave it a 4 stars on goodreads! Overall the storyline was easy to follow and super sweet and wholesome. I loved the characters and I enjoyed the vivid imagery and use of the 5 senses to tell the story. The concept of pure childhood lovers touched me and I really enjoyed how Poppy and Rune’s relationship developed throughout the novel. Tillie Cole really captured that concept of unconditional love and I enjoyed reading that in the book. I would say although I loved the details and vivid pictures the words painted, some scenes felt a little bit drawn out and I would easily get distracted by my phone next to me and this would happen frequently. But I do want to applaud Tillie Cole for her ability to make me SOB even as I knew the novel would end on a sad note. Something about her way of words and they way Rune never stopped caring for Poppy truly touched me and I believe everyone should read this at least once. After reading I felt this book changed >>>>>>
